Barrier-Free Bathroom

As a Certified Aging in Place Specialist, we create accessible bathrooms which allow homeowners to live independently and comfortably in their own home. This project, for a homeowner with “Lou Gehrig’s” disease, earned Custom Craft Contractors the coveted NARI Contractor of the Year award at the local and regional levels in the Bathrooms Under $30,000 category.

Central to the design and construction of this bathroom renovation was creating a barrier free environment accessible for a wheelchair user while still maintaining the craftsmanship and interior finishes of the home.

The stylish, accessible height toilet allows for easy transfer from a wheelchair. The bidet seat permits total independence and privacy when needed.

With much of the room receiving a tile finish, a dark chocolate brown on the walls lends a sense of warmth to the space and accentuates the earthy tones used throughout the room.

Wheelchair Accessible Vanity

The stationary shower head on the side wall is perfect for use when standing. The hand-held shower on a slide bar provides flexibility as needs change. The position of the shower head can be adjusted for a seated user or it can be removed for use by a caregiver.
