Spacious, Family-Style Kitchen

Our clients envisioned a kitchen where they could cook together and catch up on family matters, without colliding or needing to shout to be heard. With dual priorities of functionality and comfort, we set out to create a kitchen that would become the heart and soul of their home.

The island countertop support legs were harvested from an old table that was passed down from the homeowner’s great grandfather. They were modified to support the island counter and were then refinished to match the cabinetry

Spacious, Family-Style Kitchen

The professional cooktop easily handles the most demanding cooks. The built-in range hood compliments the surrounding wall cabinetry and maintains healthy indoor air by venting cooking odors and gases to the exterior of the home.

Professional Cook-top

The curved arch above the dining room opening is a visual effect that was used several times throughout the redesigned areas. It adds another design element lending to a softer, more casual feel of the space.

Decorative Details

The microwave was removed from the over-the-range configuration for safety concerns. Separating the microwave and the cooktop created added space for a secondary cook to help with meal prep.

Two Cooks in the Kitchen

A closet in a little used guest bedroom was enlarged to accommodate laundry facilities. Conveniently located down the hall from the second floor bedrooms, the homeowners no longer have to haul laundry up and down steps.
