Bohemia Manor

Bohemia Manor, a classic gentleman’s farm, sits atop a 368-acre piece of property which includes a breathtaking vista of Maryland’s eastern shore coastal way with impressive views overlooking sweeping lawns and majestic mature trees lining the view toward the water’s edge. Bohemia Manor Farm is a Chesapeake City, Maryland farm with rich history. The property’s original owner, Augustine Herman, Lord of Bohemia Manor, was a Czech explorer and talented cartographer from Prague, Bohemia who lived in New Amsterdam and Cecil County, Maryland. Herman contracted by Lord Baltimore, was asked to create a map of Virginia and Maryland that illustrated the Chesapeake Bay coastline. The map was completed and published in London in the 1670s and inscribed by Herrman as "Virginia and Maryland as it is now planted and inhabited this present year of 1670, surveyed and exactly drawn by the only labors and endeavors of Augustine Herrman, Behemiensis."
