Starry Night Farm

Overlooking the dramatic valleys of the former King Ranch “Buck and Doe Valley Farm” this new residence evokes in materials, detail and proportions the spirit of an 1800 farm house built in stages reflecting the prosperity of the farmer. Much of the millwork and all of the stone are salvaged from demolished 18th century houses in the oldest of “green building” practices. However it is planned to work for the way these clients live today with a wonderfully open, central kitchen for casual entertaining and several separate suites of bedrooms for family and guests. Adjacent to a paneled home office, wine cellar and gym at the lower level is an award winning, state of the art, home theater, fully isolated acoustically from the balance of the house. The barn and out buildings carry on the materials and scale of the house but are planned for maximum convenience and utility of an ongoing horse farm.
