The current owner engaged the architects to re-cast the entire house with a much stronger range of materials, forms and details to both create a more playful, evocative architectural vocabulary and take better advantage of the steeply wooded site and broad stream views. The result is a complete “make-over” from a weak “A” frame to a robust hillside retreat reminiscent of the Shingle Style mountain camps but supercharged with color and contrasts inspired by the dappled light of the woods and stream.
