This rather modest tropical loft-style house was formerly a standard housing unit inside an air-force base. Its rigid concrete structure was fully maintained, small section of the house was added in the back and main living space was opened up to create a breezy loft-like experience filled with light. Polished concrete counter-tops and stainless steel appliances and details in the kitchen, dining room and bathrooms were complimented with naturally-stained wood. Stained wood planks were also used on the front facade (side fences, front planters and gate) to offset grey color and "soften" it up. This transformation was achieved with a budget of about $60,000.
