La Pinède

La Pinède a été conçue pour un couple ayant un eu un coup de coeur pour le site situé à Hudson, sur les berges de la Rivière des Outaouais à proximité du Lac des Deux-Montagnes. Avec un minimum de déboisement sélectif, cette maison unifamiliale vient s’insérer dans une magnifique forêt composée de pruche de l’Est, de pin blanc, de chêne rouge, de bouleaux et d’hêtre. L’orientation de la maison prend avantage des vues impressionnantes vers le cours d’eau grâce à ses larges fenêtres. Les propriétaires de la Pinède accueillent très régulièrement leur famille et amis. La maison a été conçue afin d’offrir une aile plus intime pour ses résidents et un deuxième étage pour héberger ces multiples visiteurs. Ces deux pôles se rejoignent au cœur de la maison par une enfilade d’espaces communs avec plafonds cathédrale illuminés par une abondance de fenêtres.

The Pines is located in Hudson, Québec on the shore of the Ottawa River near Lake of Two Mountains and was designed for a couple that fell in love with the site. Using a strategy of minimal, selective tree removal, the single-family home is nestled comfortably in a beautiful forest of mostly eastern hemlock and white pine with a scattering of red oak, white birch, maple and beech trees. The house orientation takes advantage of the breathtaking views towards the water from the large windows on the river elevation. The owners of the Pines regularly host family and friends and the house was designed with a second floor to accommodate its multiple visitors while providing the owners with a more intimate wing on the ground floor. These two zones connect in the more public common areas at the heart of the house under cathedral ceilings and illuminated by an abundance of windows.
