Situé sur l’île de Grand Isle au Vermont, cette deuxième version du projet de maison inclut la planification de deux pavillons reliés par un corps de bâtiment central servant d’entrée. Le bâtiment 1 comprend les aires de vies principales de la résidence et les aires de services incluant une mezzanine où deux chambres sont aménagées. L’implantation du bâtiment permet de cadrer la vue ouest donnant sur la berge opposée du lac Champlain et les chaînes de montagnes à l’horizon. La façade ouest comprend une superficie de vitrage importante permettant également de bénéficier de l’orientation solaire, de la vue sur le paysage et des couchés de soleil. L’enveloppe comporte le niveau de performance thermique requis par le règlement énergétique du Vermont. Les finitions extérieures au toit et aux murs comportent des revêtements en acier, bois et panneaux de granite. Il en est de même pour les espaces, finitions, mobilier et équipements de la cuisine et des salles de bains. Le bâtiment 2 comporte un salon piano donnant également sur les vues et la terrasse commune au bâtiment 1. Les autres usages de ce pavillon comportent celier, espace bureau vitrée, deux chambres et une salle de bain partagées.
Located on the island of Grand Isle in Vermont, this second version of the house project reflects planning for two pavilions connected by a central volume serving as an entrance. Building 1 includes the main living areas of the residence and the service areas including a mezzanine where two bedrooms are fitted out. The siting of the building frames the western view overlooking the opposite shore of Lake Champlain and the mountain ranges on the horizon. The west facade includes a large area of glazing also allowing to benefit from the solar orientation, the view of the landscape and the sunsets. The envelope has the high level of thermal performance required by Vermont energy regulations. Exterior finishes to the roof and walls include steel siding, wood and granite panels. The same are used for the interior finishes, furniture and equipment in the kitchen and bathrooms. Building 2 has a piano lounge also overlooking the views and the terrace shared with building 1. Building 2 has a piano lounge also overlooking the views and the terrace shared with building 1. The remainder of the uses include a cellar, office space, two bedrooms and a shared bathroom.
