Ce projet consiste à repenser une maison existante afin d’augmenter sa surface habitable et d’actualiser les aménagements tout en mettant en valeur son caractère. La stratégie choisie fut d’agrandir la maison vers le haut en créant un nouvel étage sous combles habitables, conférant ainsi une ambiance chaleureuse. Les ouvertures ont été maximisées et une double hauteur monumentale a été créée afin d’inonder les espaces de vie de lumière naturelle. L’espace se poursuit à l’extérieur sur une terrasse généreuse donnant sur le lac Saint-Louis et surmontée d’une pergola qui contrôle l’apport solaire.

View on the Lake reimagines an older house on the lakeshore, increasing its living space and creating a sense of place. The chosen strategy was to create a new floor in the attic, creating a cozy cottage ambiance. The windows were optimised and a double-height space overlooking Lake Saint-Louis was created to flood the indoor spaces with natural light. The space continues outside onto a generous terrace beneath a pergola that controls the solar gain inside the house.
