The best pre-renovation characteristic of this kitchen, was the abundance of available natural light from the large pre-existing skylights overhead. As a result, we decided to keep them as they were, and to work the renovation and design around the light, rather than the other way around. We utilized a cool, medium and matte colour palette to help diffuse the light’s brightness, shine and intensity.

Like good coffee, good lighting and good bones don’t need much to make them the best that they can be. And so this is a relatively straight forward and simple kitchen design, but one that still leaves a long lasting impression. With a confidently simple backsplash, dog feeding station, and custom-built wine rack, it’s easy to understand why.
