This century home in Hamilton had a terraced backyard on two levels. The upper level was fully landscaped with lounge areas and a four-season glass smoking room. The lower level was essentially lawn and rarely used. The lady of the home had always wanted a pool, so Betz was consulted to recommend a design.
The gentleman of the home agreed to a pool on one condition, it must be the very best that money can buy. Consequently, Betz recommended a 13’ x 26’ Lautner edge perimeter overflow pool, which was set perfectly flush with the deck to create the appearance of a sheet of glass. Full width walk-in steps extend the minimal look.
A black flagstone deck matching the upper terrace was installed to align perfectly with the pool’s overflow edge. An underground surge tank collects the water and pumps it back into the pool at the bottom so the water at the surface is like a mirror with no turbulence. Essentially, the pool is a water feature.
