There is no shortage of creativity in this household with the owners being respectively, a home builder and an interior decorator. The design for this magnificent Kleinburg backyard was a collaboration between the owners, their architect and the designers at Betz Pools. The result is pure elegance on a massive scale.
The family, being of southern European heritage, enjoys warm summers and loves to do large group entertaining and to host big family gatherings. The focal point of the yard, a large 20’ x 50’ dry Gunite pool, looks in proportion when compared to the scale of the grand Tuscan style house and surrounding yard.
The pool is complete with all the luxury extras, a generous 11’ x 20’ tanning shelf, an 8’ circular island spa, an automatic in-floor cleaning system, a diving board for the kids, plus two deep end swim out benches to facilitate repeat diving. The pool’s classic cathedral ends are accented with topiary urns to add dimension and texture.
The pool features a light green premium Pebble Sheen raised aggregate interior that contrasts beautifully with the surrounding deck in architectural acid etched concrete which mimics the look of limestone without having its tendency for staining. The pool’s coping is made from custom pre-formed sections of matching acid etched concrete.
The classic architecture of the house, with authentic leaded glass windows, provides an elegant backdrop for the pool and its sleek perimeter overflow island spa. The cluster of chaise lounges across the deep end, backed by a soldier-like row of columnar cedars, makes you swear you’re at a villa in the Italian countryside.
