Juniper Restaurant
Juniper is Cravotta Interiors' first restaurant, designed with Chris Sanders Architecture. The concept is a black box theater, with the kitchen as the stage and the chef as the star. Deep wire-brushed, dark-stained oak floors and rich blues and greens set the mood. A plaster wave hovers above the kitchen and bar. Cravotta designed four monumental bronze-wire and papier-mache light fixtures whose mottled glow carries the room, along with all the tables and a commissioned mural of a giant juniper tree by artist Brian William Kirchner. The semi-private dining room holds an original painting by America Martin.
