Zilker Contemporary
Zilker Contemporary is a residence in the Zilker neighborhood of Austin, designed by architect Gregory Brooks in Douglas fir and concrete with clean geometry. The clients are a midlife couple designing their forever home, and they wanted it to reflect decades of world travel, a love of organic materials, and something modern that still felt grounded. The palette runs warm against the raw concrete, with luminous green threaded through. Antique Sultanabad rugs and Moroccan textiles from the markets of Marrakech bring age and distance into a home built for the present. The two-story living room pairs a Dessin Fournir sofa and art by Roi James with a coffee table and secretary desk designed by Cravotta. Featured in Luxe Interiors + Design. Photography by Ryann Ford.
