Proper Vibes is a new-construction penthouse at the Austin Proper Hotel in downtown Austin. The client, well-traveled and exacting, rebuilt the unit from the inside, replacing every finish and furnishing it throughout. A defining rule: not a single wall or ceiling is painted. Every surface is wallcovering, wood paneling, or plaster. Cravotta Interiors designed all the millwork, from the living room and office to the kitchen and primary bath. Wide-plank floors are by Sawyer Mason and the primary bath is by Salvatori. The owner's elevator vestibule sets the tone, paneled, with a monumental BDDW mirror, a vintage travertine console, a ceiling light by Jason Kuharik, and sconces by Fuse Lighting.
