W Penthouse is a residence at the W Austin Hotel, the first of many projects Cravotta Interiors designed for this client. They wanted to experience urban living while keeping the comfort of the cabin feeling they loved. The design warms the modern space by cladding the ceiling in wood and turning an unused hall and closet into a wood-wrapped office. The dining room doubles as a billiards room, with a Cravotta-designed table that converts between the two and a custom light fixture that drops down for play. Folding chairs are by Jim Zivic Design. A Mondrian-style steel and glass wall, its panes sandwiching fabric for texture and privacy, screens the bedroom while letting light pass between the spaces.
