Knightswood Drive Kitchen
This 1960's ranch had a small, original kitchen with inefficient storage and a closed in eating area. By removing the ceiling mounted wall cabinets separating the kitchen and breakfast nook, we were able to add a peninsula and open up the space to the adjacent living area. We kept the cabinets very simple with a Shaker style design, and added texture by taking the handmade subway tile to the ceiling around the windows. We kept some of the original paneling in the kitchen to keep it authentic to the age of the home, but we painted it a soft, sea-glass green to lighten the space.
