Knob Hill Kitchen Remodel
The main level of this 1959 split level home was sectioned off into small, separate rooms including a sunken family room, formal dining room, and a tiny kitchen with a breakfast nook. This young family desired a more open plan suited to a modern lifestyle, as well as additional storage, more natural light and space to entertain more casually.
The walls were cut down to fit their sectional sofa, allowing more light to filter into the space. Hardwood floors replaced tile and carpeting to bring the kitchen, dining and family rooms together, while the original slate flooring remained in the entry wall to designate it as a separate space.
A neutral palette of white, gray, green, brushed brass and matte black accentuated with pops of blush pink and warm wood invite a calming atmosphere throughout the open space.
