Rock Hill Main Floor Remodel

This newer, builder-grade home got a major upgrade in 2018 when a large cave like shower was replaced with a smaller, frameless glass shower and freestanding tub. The windows were replaced and relocated to maximize light while providing privacy. Board and batten wainscoting connects the tile with the rest of the window wall to make the space feel larger. We mixed chrome and brushed brass to create a more curated, look. The turquoise vanity was the start of the focal point, so the rest of the materials we chose are neutral and low maintenance.

In the bedroom we replaced a french door with a window to add symmetry and provide better furniture placement. The tray ceiling was trimmed with simple crown and painted trim color to differentiate it from the walls. The ceiling and bedroom walls were covered with two different metallic wallpapers to reflect light and add a touch of glam. We selected a minimalist three-blade ceiling fan with acrylic blades so it wouldn't be an eye sore.

Two years later the laundry room got a necessary upgrade with lilac painted cabinetry, and bold floral wallpaper to match. Lucite and brushed brass cabinet pulls finish the cabinetry and a lucite hanging rod provides just enough space for air drying delicates.

In 2022 the kitchen and fireplace were redone to greatly improve not only th layout and storage capacity of this recipe-creator's kitchen, but also to increase natural light. A pantry closet was removed and an interior window was installed between the kitchen and front office to allow light from the well lit office to filter into the kitchen. Because of the placement of the office, it appears it was once a sunroom or screened porch that was later finished. It wasn't, but that was the intended look in adding the window.

This kitchen is filled to the brim with custom features including multiple drawer inserts, a mechanized trash and recycling cabinet, a touch-on faucet, a steam oven, and hidden storage behind the island for less frequently used items.

The fireplace surround was updated to match the new crown molding that was installed throughout the downstairs main living spaces and a custom painting was commissioned to tie the color palette of the whole space together into a focal point.
