This outdoor kitchen in Wichita, Kansas created a more functional and inviting poolside entertaining area with a covered pavilion-style structure, granite bar top, concrete patio space, integrated lighting, and durable exterior materials.

Wichita Home Works’ in-house design team helped plan the outdoor kitchen layout, structure, bar seating, countertop placement, lighting, roof design, and finish details so the new space would work naturally with the existing pool house and backyard setting.

The project included new concrete footings, patio flatwork, a contoured step, post piers, underground electrical, exterior outlets, LED puck lighting, and a custom outdoor structure built with rough Douglas fir posts and beams. The exposed wood elements add warmth and character, while the standing seam metal roof gives the space a clean, updated look.

The outdoor bar area features Golden Duens granite with a demi bullnose edge and hidden countertop support brackets for a polished, functional serving and seating surface. LP SmartSide siding, LP soffit, LP fascia, almond guttering, and a matching downspout helped complete the structure and tie it into the surrounding outdoor area.

The finished result is a rustic contemporary outdoor kitchen designed for relaxing, hosting, serving food and drinks, and enjoying the pool area with more shade, comfort, and purpose.
