The homeowner of this split level home wanted to revamp the living and kitchen area into a more open floor plan. Originally a space broken up into three small rooms (kitchen, dining and living rooms), the area was opened up into a more contemporary "great room". Hand scraped oak hardwood flooring was installed throughout. The kitchen was expanded to include an island with raised seating for four. Hagerstown flat panel painted cabinetry was used for the main L-shape area, with the island being maple cabinetry with a Cappuccino stain. Soffits will eliminated to allow for taller wall cabinetry. The kitchen is finished off with New Venetian Gold granite counter tops, tumbled marble tile back splash and stainless steel appliances.
