There were a few elements of this 1960's ranch home kitchen that the client wanted to save. These included the beautiful pegged hardwood flooring and the large triple window over the sink. The galley floor plan was updated to better locate appliances, and to allow for other remodeling projects not shown (laundry room and 2nd bathroom off to the left). A larger island was designed to allow room for a cook top.

The new kitchen includes Bertch Kitchen+ cabinetry, done in their Northbrook door style, in maple wood with Dawn stain. The countertops were fabricated from UbaTuba granite, which contrasts nicely with the tones of the cabinetry and flooring. A new Andersen triple casement window was installed, along with stainless steel appliances. The original flooring was patched where needed before being totally refinished. The end result is a warm charming kitchen just waiting for family and friends to come over.
