Dan Contelmo designed this eclectic home with a unique blend of Shingle- and Craftsman-style architecture. Sitting amongst dense forest atop a mountain near Pawling, New York, the home merges with its surroundings through the use of natural materials and earth-tone colors. The clients desired a ranch-style home that reflected their personality. In order to bring more character to single-level living, vertical spaces were added. A guest room on the second floor accentuates the entry, while a two story great room allows light to flood in. The great room opens to a three-sided screened porch offering views of the local wildlife.
