This is a "pandemic" renovation. The client needed to urgently partition the open basement to create a home office and a gaming room, freeing up space upstairs for the relocation of a parent from an assisted living home.
A sound proof door and the insulation of the walls and ceilings with sound proof insulation eliminates sound transfer. The laminate flooring was installed over an insulated subfloor panel adding warmth and comfort. And there's still enough open space for TV and entertainment.
Recessed lights were installed across the entire basement. A heater was installed in each space as well as plenty of ethernet connections for the office and gaming room.
This is another example of how an existing space can be adapted to accommodate new living needs.
