Kitchen Remodel- Two Tone Cabinets- Pointe Claire

Our client's small kitchen lacked storage, counter and dining space but increasing the kitchen footprint was not an option. To provide her with those needs, we removed the wall dividing the kitchen and the family room and claimed some of the family room space to add a 5 foot breakfast bar with four ample dining spaces. The breakfast bar also served as an extended kitchen counter top with cabinet storage space below. The range was relocated to provide a working counter on either side.
Our designer suggested a two toned design which our client loved as it gave her the best of both worlds; lower dark cabinets satisfied her love of dark wood and the lighter taupe and glass cabinets above gave the illusion of height and made her small kitchen feel lighter and larger. The laminate counter tops with soft marble swirls of brown and taupe pulled the cabinet colors together and the straight edge finish provided a sleek contemporary look. A sea foam blue backsplash tile with mosaic detail adds a soft contrast.
