The basement in our clients 1920’s home was simply unlivable and was turning into a giant storage closet. We started with eco friendly foam insulation to the exterior walls, we installed new windows, we rebuilt a brand new birch staircase and created a powder room from a tiny room with a toilet. The drop ceiling hiding original rustic wood beams was removed and the beams were left exposed. Drywall was installed between the joists giving the basement more headroom. This part is a little more expensive but worth it.
