Glamorous Great Hills
Designer: Turnstyle Designs
Construction: Skelly Home Renovations
This eccentric bathroom was a work of art in its own right! When renovating this bathroom, designer Leieve Saether of TurnStyle Design had one goal in mind - to have room for growth. The task at hand was renovating a child’s bathroom, with a style and functionality that matches the children as they grew older.
The demolition phase of this project consisted of demoing out the entire bathroom and starting from scratch. New drywall and texturing were in the works with a level 5 finish.
For the shower area, a standing shower was built on top of the newly installed curbed shower pan. The flooring of the shower pan was tiled with natural crystal inspired hex tiles to keep a neutral tone, this was also used for the vanity wall. The shower walls were tiled with three earth-toned marble to break from the other stone. Lieve chose a specific combination of tiles to give the space a personal feel and longevity.
The finishing touches of this project were installing the vanity area and flamingo tower. Since the bathroom was going to be occupied by three girls, there had to be a lot of room for storage. A bright flamingo linen tower was installed to add color and youth. The dark muted blue double vanity was installed below 4 - yes 4 - mirrors! Since the ceiling was slanted, Lieve was able to hang two half-moon mirrors to add more dimension to the room and accentuate the hanging fixtures.
