This fantastic rambler is set next to a small year-round river but, strangely enough, was not designed to orient the homeowners to work and relax in view of this beautiful scene. As with every project we design we re-oriented things toward the natural light and views. This kitchen was sequestered behind several walls with little to no connection to the adjacent living areas. We fixed that too...but once we removed some of the surrounding walls to improve light flow and connectivity we needed to be creative in providing sufficient workspace as well as a pantry. No problem! The new pantry and bar area was carved out of an oversized front living area. This family loves to entertain with friends and now, with a much better, brighter space, can enjoy doing so!
