Tahoe Ridge
We were absolutely euphoric when these clients said they wanted DRAMA. Brunette, swarthy textural surfaces aren’t used nearly enough in our opinion, and here they shine. The shimmering wavy island panels and glass, paired with ocean-tinged tile, swim buoyantly against the rich sable wood tones.
Yes, those are individually selected, distinct-toned walnut boards cladding the entire refrigerator section — and yes, it was anything but easy… but so very worth it.
A frosted glass door now streams soft light into what was once a darkened drop zone/pantry and the entry from the garage. We refuse to let anyone enter their home through a shadowy, crepuscular, dungeon-like vestibule — so we always strive to create breezy, welcoming light travel throughout.
The family cat certainly seems to appreciate the changes!
Of Note — Jewelry can sometimes feel gaudy and obnoxious, but in this case the luscious amber island pendants are pure perfection. Tastefully evident and resplendent, they deliver a flattering glow to faces while casting open-bottomed, direct illumination exactly where it’s needed on the work surface.
As PNW & Salt Lake City interior designers and interior architects specializing in space planning and functional design for remodels throughout the greater Seattle & Salt Lake City regions, we love creating these bold, textural kitchens where rich, dramatic materials and thoughtful lighting come together to make every day feel vibrant and alive.
