Palatine Ave Project
This impactful remodel completely transformed a once-gloomy section of this Seattle home, flooding the space with generous light flow while honoring its classic character. We preserved the great traditional details—flush-inset framed cabinetry, rich hardwood counters, authentic period light fixtures, and beautiful wood fenestration—all of which combine to create a warm, cozy, and lived-in vibe that feels both timeless and inviting.
Of Note — Lighting was absolutely central to this design, both natural and artificial. We positioned all upper and tall cabinetry on walls that could not accommodate windows, ensuring every work surface remains bright, open, and free of obstructions. Above the new windows we added elegant sconces that beautifully mimic the soft glow of daylight as evening falls, extending that pleasant illumination well into the night.
As a PNW interior designer and interior architect with a passion for space planning and functional design in remodels throughout the greater Seattle region, I thrive on turning challenging areas into spaces that feel naturally bright, highly functional, and deeply personal to the way my clients actually live.
