Feinmann transformed this Newton, MA Cape Cod style home to meet the needs of a growing family by completely remodeling the first and second floors and adding a third.

FIRST FLOOR
The original stairway was located in the center of the home, which created a cramped floor plan. To open up the living space and meet the family’s needs, we did the following:

- Relocated the stairs
- Removed several walls between the rooms.
- Replaced the first-floor master bedroom with a large dining room space
- Extended the living area by using the former dining room and stairway
- Added a study, mudroom, and powder room
- Added custom built-in cabinetry and electric fireplace to the living room

The result was a spacious first floor that had multi-purpose. Now when you enter the house, you can easily access and flow between the essential rooms.

SECOND & THIRD FLOOR
We remodeled the second story to include a master suite, two kid’s bedrooms, and another full bathroom. We also raised the house’s roof to create a third-floor addition for their Au Pair, which had a bedroom and bathroom.
