This carriage house is an addition to a pre-existing guest house, and meant to function as a studio/workspace that is well crafted and elegant but not so much so that one would be afraid of getting it dirty. It's a place for hard work.

The interior ceilings and walls are tongue and groove pine; the two douglas fir beams that span the length of the room are non-structural but help match the existing structure. The floor is coated in epoxy for optimal durability. The custom build cabinets are pecan, stained alder, some with glass fronts.

Welded stainless steel counters provide a bounty of durable work surface, attended by peg board to store tools. The room is equipped with a dust collection system and a mini-split AC system.
