Trio Of Accent Tile
This northwest Austin family needed new bathrooms: one for each daughter and a new master suite for the parents. To help with this adventure, the family worked with a design-build firm and a respected, local interior designer.
The project was conducted in 2 phases. The first phase was the original hall bath that both daughters shared. The layout remained virtually the same with all new finishes and cabinets. After the bathroom remodel (which the youngest daughter now uses), construction started on the older daughter’s bath and new master suite.
The second daughter’s bathroom, which was once the parent’s original master bath, was converted from a double vanity to a single. The room now has more storage and a revamped closet. Shower and toilet plumbing remained ‘as is’ while space from the bedroom and second master bath closet was converted into a hallway that now leads to the new master suite. The new suite has his and hers vanities and closets, kitchenette, tub and no threshold shower; a true getaway for the parents.
All three baths share a similar theme— horizontal and diagonal strips of accent tile. Both girls’ baths have Sicis Neo-glass mosaic tile in different shades and the new master bath has large bands of Lunata Bay stacked Pisa Pearl tile that starts on the floor and runs up the wall. Floating vanities of maple create a sense of more space. The girls’ baths have Silestone in Yukon Blanco vanity tops, while the master bath has Jet Black Caesartone for the sink vanities and kitchenette and Blizzard Caesarstone around the tub deck, make-up vanity and shower seat.
Now with the renovated baths, these growing daughters and busy parents have their own spaces to get ready and enjoy their day.
