Clean & Comfy

This 3-story hillside home suffered major water damage from burst pipes on the upper level. During the remediation process, the lower two floors were completely gutted and the home was jacked up and leveled. Structural steel beams were added to the long spans and new concrete piers poured below the house to support the structure.

The lower level bedrooms were insulated and finished with new flooring and windows, and the hall bath was completely redone with maple cabinets and a quartz countertop.

On the entry level, walls were removed, connecting the kitchen, dining room, and living room into one large open room with views through the new windows to the hills beyond.

The existing stair was completely gutted and a new stair with minimal steel railings, glulam stringers, open risers, and “floating” cherry treads was built in its place.
Catastrophic water damage accompanied by a sensitive redesign of the affected areas has resulted in an almost entirely new home, with improved structural support, updated contemporary finishes, and a much improved layout.
