This house had the chance for an expansive view of the Barton Creek Greenbelt that was not taken. Small windows, a badly placed kitchen, and a bulky, under-used fireplace all conspired to choke off the view. We reconfigured and expanded the kitchen, removed an awkward loft that clogged the living space, and added new large windows open to the view. The kitchen was updated with new finishes and appliances, with the range serving as the fulcrum for the color scheme. Carpet was removed and engineered wood installed, flowing through the space and unifying living and kitchen areas. The stair was redone so that the floor goes right up to the railings. Clean and simple, modern layout with traditional touches.
