Los Altos Contemporary III
A highly successful spec developer commissioned this North Los Altos home as their first project with us. The rectangular lot is a bit wider, but less deep than the typical Los Altos parcel.
Our goal was to create a sense of contemporary calm throughout the design. This is accomplished in part with the exterior cedar overhang that continues down the exterior wall of the house on either side of the steel pivot door. Oversized aluminum windows also span from the floor to the ceiling at the front and rear of the home. Between the transparency and natural materials, this home exudes a very organic look and feel.
The rear covered patio leads to exterior steps that connect the main and basement floors. This basement features many custom design elements at the request of the buyer, such as a 300 bottle wine room and light-filled, 1,400 square foot, 60 foot long home gym.
