Willow Glen Craftsman Facade Makeover

Most of our projects involve major structural changes in an effort to improve floor plans, ceiling heights, and curb appeal. This project was a rare exception.

Our charge was to "cosmetically" make over this 20+ year old spec home to make it more in keeping with its neighbors, on what is one of the nicest streets in this traditional San Jose neighborhood. Budget was very limited, so we weren't able to propose all-new windows or major structural modifications.

Limiting ourselves to a select few roofline changes, we carefully developed a cost-effective trim and materials package in the Craftsman vein that leverages the value of the existing structure while enhancing the curb appeal and resale value for our clients.

A richer palette of materials replaced the bland stucco exterior. Among these include cement fiber lap and shingle siding, wood belly bands and gable vents, wooden brackets, stone veneer base and water table, wood garage and entry door, and style-appropriate exterior lighting.

Our design efforts were limited to the exterior only, no interior changes were done in this project.
