New 2 story, 3,800 s.f. home on a flat site, in a transitional style.
The owners requested a double height entry and living room, which are accommodated in this design. To avoid overwhelming the neighborhood, we reduced the exterior scale of these elements through our fenestration details, as well as the use of a porch roof element, which is a planning code requirement in San Carlos.
The design was approved unanimously on the first try at the San Carlos Residential Design Review Committee (RDRC) public hearing.
Initial material pallette includes standing seam metal roof, grey-stained western red cedar, stone veneer, aluminum-clad wood windows, and smooth cement plaster.
