Menlo Park Contemporary II
After first exploring a metal building system whose requirements proved to be too restrictive for our clients' taste, we pivoted our design to a conventional stick built-system.
Sited on a rare corner + cul de sac lot off a quiet residential street, our L-shaped building opens to the southwest, creating a sunny rear yard and two rear facades washed in natural light throughout the afternoon.
The two story bedroom + entry wing faces the street, where the single story primary living area tucks behind and faces due south. A large roof overhang creates a gracious covered patio, shading the sliding doors from excessive heat gain while creating a pleasant outdoor living space.
SCOPE OF WORK: DEMO OF EXISTING HOUSE ON DEVELOPED SITE. NEW CONSTRUCTION TO BE TWO STORY HOUSE, 5 BEDROOMS & 5 BATHROOM HOUSE OF 3363.1 S.F. ABOVE GRADE LIVING AREA, 462.3 S.F. GARAGE TOTALING 3825.4 S.F. WITH A BASEMENT OF 1,087.4 S.F.
