This table is one of my favorite pieces. Shown in padouk with bamboo and stainless accents, it is finished with a water-borne varnish. The hand-made legs are also padouk as are the alternating layers of the supports.

Padouk is an African hardwood that is readily available and when freshly milled has a striking reddish orange color and a beautiful grain pattern. As it ages it will change color and turn a reddish brown with a purple tint, also very beautiful. The color change will happen slowly because of the non-yellowing finish.

The smoothly flowing leading edge of this coffee table and the first rate materials will allow it to fit into almost any home — Modern, Transitional or Mid-Century and would be appropriate in an upscale office environment as well.
