At the end of the kitchen counter is the office area.

Above on the left is the dog alcove, large enough for the canines to eat but not occupy the middle of the kitchen floor.

The kitchen adapted to the long nature of the house by creating stations: a cleaning and dish station, a cooking station and a baking station.

With my mentor, Don Reiman, we built a number of retirement homes in Maine like this one. The house features ground floor living for the couple with loft space for visiting children and grand children.
