I myself am not of trendy taste. I prefer antique ,restoration and preservation of 16 to 1800 year old homes. Furniture hardware etc.

I’d love to see new designs in medicine cabinets. So much more practical than a giant mirror, especially for smaller bathrooms. Some new stylish recessed ones or sleek ones that included power outlets for toothbrushes and razors would be terrific. And with dividers or compartments for things.

For 2024, what material is most recommended for white kitchen cabinets & why?
Wood, MDF, or Thermofoil? Thanks

I also miss medicine cabinets - wish new homes would go back to them!! On the side wall works wonderful without upsetting the wall design

I love seeing color make a comeback. A sink might be too big of a commitment for me but it’s nice to see some bright pops of color. I’m wondering how much water multiple shower heads like that puts out? I love a nice hot shower but that seems like a lot of wasted water.

I have disliked all the fuss about the boring white palette of the kitchen and bathroom decor of late. Bring back warmth and color to our lives.

Well it's really about personal taste. I like white.

While I still love the serenity of white - various shades of creams, whites, sandstone, etc., I love the photos of jewel toned rooms. I have a small condo and the second bedroom is very tiny and used as an office/napping room. I'm thinking of going colour crazy in there - a gypsy hang out. Benjamin Moore makes a "Chrome Green" which is like a dark forest, or maybe a deep turquoise and then colourful cushions, etc. I'll see if I have the guts to do it after I get all the other reno's done.

I currently have cabinets that are like this and am looking at granite and tile backsplash to update and lighten up my kitchen without having to replace the cabinets. I love the warmth of the natural wood with the creams and whites and gold.

Thanks to all Houzz inspo I got while being a renter where I collected a number of designs for my ideabooks. The dwelling we got was a ready-for-occupancy one and the primary t/b needs a lot of love, budget permits, to bring joy. So, Houzz remains to be relevant, not to mention, entertaining. Keep on giving info and inspo.

When I renovated my second bathroom, I bought a panel that has the multiple outlets, handheld shower head, etc instead of getting the style shown here. It does the same job, was MUCH less expensive, and is replaceable if and when we need to replace or sell the house. Also, if heaven forbid, something breaks and we need to replace anything, it is a LOT less expensive than replacing the internal features, pretty as they may be. Oh, and it has built-in lighting and temperature.

I replaced my giant mirror with a sleek cabinet, and it made a huge difference in storage and functionality. Highly recommend it
