A Texas Designer Gives a Tour of Her Organic Modern Home
Interior designer Ginger Curtis of Urbanology Designs calls her home in Fort Worth, Texas, her laboratory. It’s where she’s created flexible rooms in which she can swap pieces in and out to keep the look feeling fresh. “I wanted my house to feel cohesive and connected but also create these moments in different spaces so I could walk into one room and it had a look and feel that was completely its own, but it didn’t feel disjointed from the rest of the house,” she says.
In this video, Curtis gives a virtual tour of her home and shares tips for layering paint and texture to create versatile rooms filled with special little moments.

Great interview. Love it. Your house is amazing! thank you for sharing it with us. Every single room is so unique and beautiful. BTW- I also like dark floors :-)
Damn! That is very beautiful house!
Love it! I will be moving into a larger apartment so that my daughter can have her own room and I want to start out with good ideas so we choose items that will be a good foundation for her space. This is a great place to allow her to find her style and choose some goal pieces as we shop the thrift for a bed and dresser etc.
what a great interview, and loved seeing your home, So beautiful, love the flooring and all the natural layering and styling. thank you
Absolutely love your home Ginger! Great interview!
Amazing home! Love how open and light the spaces are and how you used neutral colors with accent colors on the right walls, especially on the angle wall in the Living Room. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!
Thank you, Ginger, for sharing. My hubby and I clicked 'pause' again and again to take in all the details of your work. Before and after pics really show how much a designer can do. Whew! Walking through that house is engaging and makes me breathe deeply; it's filled with light and freshness. And you are just too cute yourself! Best to you and your family. Thank you Houzz.
I always remember the story of your kids' room so well, it was the first time I was introduced to Ginger. I did not realize just how much that photo has blown up! It's so much fun to get to see the rest of your house with you as tour guide.

The dikdik skin - my parents brought those from Africa in the 70s! What a lovely home, beautiful choices of color and texture - calm energy and family-centric. Blessings as your family grows in that space.
It's a relaxed, timeless look. Homes reflect a family's character.... your home has LOTS of character.
What’s your neutral paint colors
I am blown away with this house; I love the look of mother-nature in and outside of a house. After listening and watching attentively during the interview, I am going for a similar looking and designed house like this. Its aesthetic ambience is a knock-out.

Can you spell out the blue paint in the dining room? I keep listening but I can't figure it out. Thanks, I love the rooms you toured.
I believe she said Hick Blue! Love that color too...
Hague Blue Farrow and Ball...
This interview was several notches up the ladder from the first one. Thank you Mr. Spencer. Of course, I think you also had a very vivacious person to interview. Mrs. Ginger Curtis just flowed with the details of how she went about designing various rooms. It helped to open my brain a bit more to my own project 'cottage in the woods'.
I watched the video twice and jotted some wonderful ideas that I can apply to my late 1800-early 1900 style cottage. This interview gave me energy to have some fun while pulling things together with my own interior designer.
Looking forward to more interesting interviews. I really liked the followup with the article by Mr. Parker and a chance to really look at Mrs. Curtis' rooms and study them a bit more as to details of design.
Haha
The simplicity is what shows your style, simple colors contrast, wood, and the fact your designs are to last makes them a wonderful, well thoughts designs. Thank you for sharing.
Ginger, your Hague Blue trimmed angled wall has inspired a barn door creation in our new home. Thank you for sharing - I just wanted to drink it all in. As I work on our lighting plan, I would love to know the name and resource information on your rattan dining room pendants - they are the perfect airy and shape I need for my space. Thank you in advance! Kristi

In 1977-78 my husband and I built the same bed system for our two boys to share a room.. We loved them and it worked very well for many years.. but we didn't have wheels on the bottom bed. Your home is beautiful enjoyed the walk through ...We have liked to see the entrance inside the house..Could I reach you for ideas?
I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Gingers home and her nurturing traits that seemingly come through in her designs. I can fix that fiddleleaf problem for her!
I also enjoy sweeping the floors. Every morning before heading out the door. The Roomba just sits in the corner, waiting like an understudy...
I really enjoyed this interview and a little peek into the mind of a talented designer. Thanks.
Ginger your home and your presence are inspirational! I love your approach & the continuity of your design!
