A Tricked-Out Basement for 2 College Basketball Super Fans
As the NCAA men’s basketball Final Four tournament ramps up this weekend (April 6-8), you might be considering yourself a committed sports fan. But chances are, you’ve got nothing on Tommy and Renee Owen. They’ve tricked out their 1,450-square-foot basement with all things dedicated to Tommy’s alma mater, North Carolina State University.
Countless pieces of memorabilia cover red walls (NC State red, of course), and the school’s block-S logo and its iconic wolflike mascot, Tuffy, show up on the carpet, rugs, pool table, bar stools, movie theater seats and more. “It basically looks like NC State exploded in my basement,” Tommy says. “But in a classy way.”
Keep Watching:
Epic basement and it must be so much fun to spend time there. The David Thompson/ Reynolds piece is beautiful. Watching games there were nothing short of spectacular.
Awesome space. Played football for Dick Sheridan and Jim Valvono was my AD. So many memories for our family. Totally jealous.
Go Pack!
They have what's called a mixed marriage! Love it!
WAHOOWA!
Love this story. So well done. I share the red passion! My senior year was spent going to the Liberty Bowl with Lou Holtz and winning NCAA Championship with David Thompson. The original Cardiac Pack. Magical year!
Great show! Love Tommy and Renee are awesome!
Personal enjoyment and satisfaction is often "worth more" than resale value. If you are going to be somewhere long-term, make the changes that give you the most happiness. Enjoy it, Wolfpack fans!!!
