Step Inside a Stylish, Compact London Row House and Yard

In this episode of Houzz TV Live, London designer Yoko Kloeden gives a virtual tour of a compact Victorian row house she remodeled for a family of four. Kloeden extended the house to the side and rear to expand the kitchen and add lots of sleek oak cabinets that maximize storage. Bifold glass doors completely open the kitchen to an updated back deck, allowing the homeowners to push a rolling kitchen island outside to act as a serving table. On the deck, a large vertical garden creates a lush backdrop and conceals a neighbor’s unsightly brick wall. Elsewhere in the home, neutral colors and vintage pieces create an inviting atmosphere.

Enjoyed this very much. Especially the idea of having naturally occurring colour only. I shall incorporate this idea into my beach house which is built in industrial style.

Love the Rustic Elegance of this project. Although there are many different heritage elements, they work together in harmony with the natural elements of this style.

What a great starting point: the only color she wanted was from her food, all other colors had to be from natural materials. It’s so serene!
