Tour a Contemporary London Loft in a Victorian School Building
Ross Targett had a gem on his hands. His loft-style apartment in a converted Victorian school building featured charming period details and a location in a prime London neighborhood. But the late-1990s conversion had created a look and layout that didn’t quite fit his lifestyle. Looking to update the space with a more contemporary Japandi style with clean lines and a generous balance of white and wood finishes, Targett searched Houzz for an interior design firm.
He found Akiva Projects and worked with the firm to refresh the interiors and rejigger the floor plan. They added a little more privacy to a mezzanine level while maintaining the open and airy atmosphere and preserving historic details such as the glazed brick tile in the main living area.
Lovely renovation. I like that they respected the space they had and didn’t try to turn it into something it wasn’t, while also injecting some real style. Well done!
Very nicely done. I would like to know more about the acoustic panels. Are they part of the wood slats or two separate components?
Thank you for your comments we love it too! The Wood Slats are all one component.
Beautiful. Love it.
