Tour a Designer’s Bold and Colorful Living Room and Guest Bath
In this episode of Houzz TV Live, interior designer Jessie McLaughlin of Jessie Lane Interiors takes viewers through two updated spaces inside her modern Spanish-style Los Angeles home. In the long and narrow living room, McLaughlin created a bold, colorful look with a curvy 17-foot teal velvet sofa, a black-painted built-in bookcase, ochre drapes, a cranberry rug and two armchairs that resemble chunky marshmallows. In a guest bathroom, deep forest green millwork, a marble vanity and backsplash and handmade square shower tiles create an elegant, moody vibe.

So beautiful! The color in both spaces works so well to create warmth, fun and relaxation - yet not overwhelm. Both spaces are a feast for the eye! Also love all the fun touches as it also keeps the space relaxing. I didn't even know there was a TV on your bookcase until you started talking about it so BRAVO on having that blend in!! I HATE it when tv dominates! Also LOVED the little built in cubby at the end of bookshelves!! Thank you for sharing!!
Love the bold colors!
Where is this incredible couch from ?
Can you please tell me the name brand of the beautiful tile on the shower wall. It looks lovely and organic.
Each to his own. To me the bright colors in the drapes and couch take away from the paintings. The use of more muted color would be better IMO.
YAY for color. White can be so BLOODLESS for people with personalities like me. My French cottage coastal glam is in shades of teal, amethyst , and white. People love my home...COSY., elegant.
Love love love this fun room. It’s fun but still elegant. Great design!
