Watch an Editor Discuss New Looks for Engineered Surfaces
In this episode of Houzz TV Live, senior editor Mitchell Parker talks about trends happening now in the world of engineered countertops and other surfaces. These surfaces are made from compressed and heated particles of quartz, glass, porcelain and other materials. They’re durable, easy to clean and come in a variety of colors and styles, making them currently the go-to material for things like kitchen countertops, backsplashes and other surfaces in a home.

Mitchell, Thanks for the video update on engineered countertop trends, etc. Nice to have more options to consider.
No grout lines~ Yaaaa
They look great!
We used Caesarstone in our MBR, PR, & Kitchen and just love the look and durability! The Dekton brand looks very cool and I’m impressed with the strength of it for outdoor use near a pool. Wish I could see the Spanish kitchen example in person, it looks AMAZING. It’s great however to have these technical updates with great looking photos, virtual shopping made easy!
Love Solid surrounds. As long ago as 1980 we would use plain white Formica as tub or shower surrounds for a cheap, clean cheerful look in small baths. We just pulled off a 20 year shower wall that had no leaking issues & still looked great. We’ve been using coriander as a kitchen backsplash for many years too, but it’s so exciting to see the newest designs, too.
Darn spell check...Corian as backsplash
