Concrete/Urban/Public Architecture

The concrete base poured between the two large neighboring condos creates a buffer between home and public sidewalk, guarding the family's privacy. This inverted house has open communal spaces above and cozy bedrooms below. The large contemporary kitchen is guarded with frosted windows. The island provides plenty of room for the cook and the guests. The open plan moves seamlessly from kitchen to dining room to living room. Contemporary furniture complements the architecture in the comfortable living room. Walnut flooring and stairs warm and contrast with the poured in place concrete walls. Light easily flows into the subteranean family room via the light well that is visible through the interior glass wall. Concrete fireplace and flooring is warmed up considerably with wood veneers and bright color.
