(Custom Home) Bright Colors Breathe Style into Transitional
Colors, Colors, Colors! The homeowners dreamed of a colorful home, with pops of bold color on the interior and colors inspired by mother-nature on the exterior. Red color accents are seen throughout the home including the red kitchen range and range hood, laundry room cabinets, custom glass vessel sink, kitchen backsplash tile and home furnishings. The husband, a plastic surgeon, was very particular about the architectural angles and architectural beams of the home which drove the design resulting in the exterior roof angle at the front entry and back patio as well as the interior angles and architectural beams in the main living area. In the family room, a wall of windows came to a peak to simulate the feel of being at the bow of a ship. The wife was German and wanted to infuse a European style throughout as seen in details like the kitchen’s high gloss cabinetry and red appliances and display areas for her decorative collections. The homeowners purchased the original dilapidated home because it had incredible lake views. The focus of the main floor plan was to situate the main living spaces around the lake views. A custom made fireplace anchors the living room while oversized disappearing sliding doors were added from the living room to the deck, providing for an incredible indoor-outdoor experience. The master suite was included on the main floor and special features, like a walk-in tub and provisions for an elevator, will allow the homeowners to age in place and enjoy their beautiful dream home for years to come.
